Foster is a small town located in the southwestern part of Rhode Island, United States. It is part of the Providence metropolitan area. According to the 2010 census, Foster had a population of 5,247 people. The town has a total area of 25.7 square miles, of which 24.9 square miles is land and 0.8 square miles is water. The town is home to the George Washington Management Area, a popular recreation area with fishing, hiking, and hunting.
