Smithfield is a town located in the state of Rhode Island and is the largest municipality in Providence County. The town has a population of about 21,000 and is known for its historic downtown, annual festivals, and historic landmarks. Smithfield also has a number of outdoor recreation areas, including the George Washington State Park, Arcadia State Park, and the Great Swamp Management Area. The town is also home to Bryant University, a private university. Smithfield is located just north of Providence and offers easy access to the city and its many attractions.
