Smith Hill is a neighborhood in the city of Providence, Rhode Island located just south of downtown. It is bordered by the neighborhoods of Elmhurst, Mount Pleasant, Federal Hill, and the West End. The neighborhood is roughly bounded by Smith Street to the north, Chalkstone Avenue to the east, Atwells Avenue to the south, and the Woonasquatucket River to the west. It is home to many historic buildings, including Smith Hill Library, the Rhode Island State House, the Roger Williams National Memorial, and the Roger Williams Park Zoo. The neighborhood is home to many restaurants, small businesses, and several Providence Public Schools. It is also home to Smith Hill Community Health Center, a primary care facility that provides medical, dental, and mental health care to low-income and uninsured residents of the neighborhood.
